LATERAL EPICONDYLITIS OF THE ELBOW is caused by repetitive micro-trauma of the extensor tendons of the forearm. Activities such as hand shaking, high torque wrist turning such as scooping ice cream and tennis playing can produce it. Also known as TENNIS ELBOW.

LUMBAR RADICULOPATHY is a constellation of neurogenic back and lower extremity pain originating from the lumbar nerve roots. Causes may include a herniated disc or discs, foraminal stenosis, a tumor, and osteophyte formation. Also known as SCIATICA.

MARIE-STRUMPPEL DISEASE is an inflammatory disease of the spine, sacroiliac joints and occasionally extra-articular structures such as the eye. Usually presents as morning stiffness and deep aching pain of insidious onset in the lower back and over the sacroiliac joints. Also known as ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS.

MEDIAL EPICONDYLITIS OF THE ELBOW is caused by repetitive micro-trauma to the flexor tendons of the forearm. Many of the activities that cause tennis elbow can also this syndrome. Also known as GOLFER'S ELBOW.

MERALGIA PARESTHETICA is caused by compression of the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve by the inguinal ligament. Sitting, squatting or wearing wide belts will worsen symptoms.

MINER'S ELBOW is usually indicated by a swelling of the elbow and pain on extension. It is due to repetitive irritation of the bursa such as from working long hours at a drafting table or working at a mine. Also know as OLECRANON BURSITIS or STUDENT'S ELBOW.
