SACROILIAC JOINT PAIN is usually caused by arthritis of the joint. The pain is localized over the joint area and may radiate to the posterior buttocks and posterior aspect of the thigh but not below the knee.

SHINGLES is a disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which is also the virus that causes chickenpox. It commonly appears on the chest wall or the face and it is extremely painful. Also known as ACUTE HERPES ZOSTER.
SHINGLES OF THE THORACIC DERMATOMES is an infectious disease caused by the varicella-zozter virus, which also cause chickenpox. A typical rash with excruciating pain is most typical of this disease.
SPINAL STENOSIS is the result of congenital or acquired narrowing of the spinal canal. It may occur at any level. It results in pain and weakness in the affected area and corresponding extremities. When the lumbar spine is affected the legs and calves usually become painful and weak. This neurogenic pain is called neurogenic claudication. There also may be numbness, weakness and loss of reflexes.
SPONDYLOLISTHESIS is a degenerative disease of the lumbar spine caused by slippage of one vertebra body over another that causes back pain with motion of the lumbar spine, such as raising from a sitting to standing position.
STUDENT'S ELBOW is usually indicated by a swelling of the elbow and pain on extension. It is due to repetitive irritation of the bursa such as from working long hours at a drafting table or working at a mine. Also know as OLECRANON BURSITIS or MINER'S ELBOW.

SUPRASCAPULAR NERVE ENTRAPMENT is a rare cause of shoulder pain that is becoming more frequent since the increased use of backpacks instead of briefcases. Direct trauma can also produce it and also fibrous adhesion after surgery in the area of the nerve. It presents itself as pain over the shoulder and scapula.
SUPRASPINATUS TENDINITIS is usually caused by carrying heavy loads in front of and away from the body or vigorous use of exercise equipment. The pain is in the deltoid area.
