TIETZE'S SYNDROME is a common cause of chest wall pain characterized by acute painful swelling of the costal cartilages. The second and third costal cartilages are the most frequently affected.
TRIGGER FINGER is caused by inflammation and swelling of the tendons of the flexor digitorum superficialis due to compression by the head of the metacarpal bones.
TRIGGER THUMB is caused by an inflammation and swelling of the tendon of the flexor pollicis longus due to compression by the head of the first metacarpal bone. The pain is localized on the palmar aspect of the base of the thumb. The pain is constant and made worse when using the thumb for pinching.
TROCHANTERIC BURSITIS is pain localized over the trochanter and may radiate down the lateral aspect of the thigh. Patients are usually not able to sleep on the affected side.

WRIST ARTHRITIS is produced by a variety of conditions that have the common ability to damage joint cartilage. There is usually pain, swelling and decreased function. The pain may interfere with sleep.
